The National Weather Service has posted a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Jersey Shore on Sunday, December 7th, from 6:00am until 11:00am. There is the potential for spotty minor flooding at time of high tide on Sunday morning. High tide will occur at the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge between Avalon and Sea Isle City Sunday at 8:10am, and again at 8:36pm. Areas of our community that typically see high water during coastal flooding events may see minor flooding Sunday morning. Never attempt to drive through any flooded intersection or on any flooded street.

A coastal storm may develop that will bring more widespread flooding to the Jersey Shore Monday through Wednesday morning. Please pay attention to this website and traditional media outlets for the latest information.

Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 6 am to 11 am EST
Sunday…

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a coastal
Flood Advisory… which is in effect from 6 am to 11 am EST
Sunday.

* Location… coastal sections of southern New Jersey and Delaware.

* Coastal flooding… minor tidal flooding.

* Timing… around high tide Sunday morning, which occurs between
730 and 900 am, and later in many of the back bays.

* Impacts… expect roadways most prone to minor tidal flooding to
flood.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that minor tidal flooding is
anticipated. Minor tidal flooding often results in some Road
closures. Usually… the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged… leading to
costly repairs.
