The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Storm Warning for the Borough for Sunday, March 2nd at 9:00pm through Monday, March 3rd, at 4:00pm. A major winter storm is expected in our region and it will result in between eight and 12 inches of snow for the Borough.

The storm will arrive Sunday evening and begin as a brief period of rain. The rain will quickly change over to sleet and freezing ran and all snow during the overnight hours. A tenth of an inch of ice is possible during the overnight hours before the snow arrives. Please exercise extreme caution while driving during this storm event.

During the overnight hours, a changeover to all snow is expected. Daytime highs on Monday will be in the mid 20s making this storm a heavy snow event. Snow accumulations will be heavy during the mid morning through early afternoon hours on Monday. Winds will be gusty out of the north at 15-20mph so power outages are possible during this storm. Driving conditions will deteriorate throughout the day on Monday. Snow totals could be higher in the northern New Jersey and Philadelphia regions.

The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Storm Watch for the Borough from late Sunday night, March 2nd, through Monday evening, March 3rd.  There is the potential for a heavy accumulating snow from this winter storm that will arrive on Sunday evening.  The forecast currently calls for the potential of at least six inches of snow during the day on Monday, possibly more.  Accumulation totals may be adjusted through the weekend.

An approaching storm will bring clouds to our region on Sunday evening.  The storm is expected to begin as rain along the southern New Jersey coastline on Sunday night and change over to sleet and freezing rain during the overnight hours.  Sometime Monday morning the precipitation will change over to all snow.  The high temperature on Monday is forecast to be 30 degrees which will be cold enough to make it a snow event.  Winds will be out of the north at 10-15mph with gusts to 25mph during this storm.

Travel conditions are expected to worsen through the day on Monday.  Please be prepared for hazardous driving conditions throughout the day on Monday.  Conditions could be worse towards the Philadelphia/northern New Jersey areas.
