Saturday, February 10th, 8:34am: Flood Watch Issued for Stone Harbor by National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Borough and for the entire southern New Jersey area. The Flood Watch is in effect from Saturday evening, February 10th through Sunday evening, February 11th.

An area of rain is expected to move into our region Saturday evening. The rain will fall through the overnight hours and through most of the day on Sunday. There is the potential for two to three inches during this prolonged rain event. Fog will accompany this storm especially during the morning hours with temperatures in the 50s.

This is not expected to be a typical flood event with tidal flooding along the Jersey Shore. Instead, this is a rainfall event that could cause ponding of water in some neighborhoods until the water drains. Never attempt to drive your vehicle on a flooded street or through a flooded intersection as this puts you and your vehicle at risk, along with emergency responders. If you have any emergency, dial 911.
